Ford Company Logo Design Styles

Ford Motor Company logo design change over time:

Ford Logos Evolution

The First Ford logo was created in 1903, with an art nouveau border that was very popular at the time. The scripted lettering was developed after in 1906, and used in 1909. The oval was developed in 1907, although they used the scripted lettering logo only until 1912 when they developed the oval with wings. Henry ford disliked the logo with wings, so it was discontinued. Later that year they developed the scripted lettering inside an oval, which is used today, but with added blue color and shading. The logo used now still has the word 'Ford' that was used in the first logo, and the round shape around the lettering. The first logo was used to advertise the Model A car, and give it special treatment with the art nouveau border. The oval was developed to advertise Ford as the "hallmark for reliability and economy". The Ford logo can easily be remembered as a scripted lettering of the word Ford with a prominent F, with an oval around it.
